Our Vision

Our Vision

Our long term vision is to develop a sustainable alliance based in Omaha, Nebraska that will be on the frontlines to address six key areas within the black community which is economics, education, health & mental health, leadership development, policy, and cultural-spiritual awareness.

Our Values

    • Education — specifically black history; form Saturday schools, summers schools, online education, advocate for charter schools
    • Health/Mental Health — specifically generational and historic trauma (Omaha is one of the five largest cities with no mental health facility in the black community)
    • Politics — specifically identifying/grooming candidates willing to focus on black agenda, economic development
    • Communication — ideally community-wide, leveraging technology (apps) along with traditional media to provide platforms to keep the community informed and participating in a dialogue
    • Communal Dispute Resolution — disputes drive a majority of police involvement, no alternative solutions for mediation
    • Communal Defense — to help provide:
      • (a) alternative security and defense of neighborhoods,
      • (b) visual security and technology, intelligence and surveillance (addendum — mental health checkpoint) distribution of rights cards creation of community legal defense fund and pro bono legal staffing support for legal education
    • Economics — 10% plan: get community members to spend at least 10% of their income with community businesses.
    • Communal Land — disrupt the New North Omaha development plan by buying key tracts that prevent the white plan from linking up. Force those developers to negotiate
